From almost the very beginning, the Deaf President Now movement was dubbed
a student protest and four student leaders identified as the leaders.
Those four students most certainly were at the epicenter of the activity
during that week and without them none of this would have happened.
However, other individuals and groups also played a large part in the
success of DPN behind the scenes.
To let the campus and the community know about what was going on behind
the scenes that made the protest so successful, Gallaudet hosted a
series of panel discussions, from reporters who covered the story, to
interpreters who helped communication happen that week, and more.
