Back Issue: December 2, 2008 | (From left) Paula Tucker, research associate in the Technology Access Program; Stephen Trananavitch, national account manager for the T-Mobile company; and Provost Stephen Weiner hold Sidekick 3 mobile devices slated to be given away at a November 7 event. In collaboration with TAP, T-Mobile gave away 300 donated devices to Gallaudet students that day. Word of the offer spread quickly, and a long line appeared in the Jordan Student Academic Center well before the 11 a.m. start time. All of the Sidekick 3s were given out by 1 p.m. “TAP was thrilled to facilitate this event,” said Tucker. “In a matter of hours, it provided hundreds of students a quick and convenient way to stay in touch with their classmates, friends, and family. This is the kind of community partnership we love to see.”
