Student Leah Katz-Hernandez introduces her class’ presentation on immigration views during the May 4 event “Students and U.S. Immigration Policy.” The class presentation was based on the study “Attitudes of Gallaudet University Students on Immigration,” which the students conducted in the GOV 493: “Senior Seminar” course, taught by assistant professor of government Frances Marquez. Prior to the presentation, Gaby Pacheco and Juan Rodriguez, Miami Dade Community College students who walked a 1,500-mile “Trail of Dreams” from Florida to Washington, D.C., talked about their experiences as undocumented immigrants seeking higher education and their efforts to support the DREAM Act.
The Gallaudet chapter of the Lambda Pi Eta Honor Society celebrated its tenth anniversary at an April 8 induction ceremony in the SLCC Atrium.
