An impromptu lake created on the grounds south of Merrill Learning Center by a torrential, late-afternoon rain on June 12, proved too much to resist for this group of water lovers. Eleven students who completed the KDES program were honored June 13 at the school’s annual Recognition Day. The guest speaker was Irvine Stewart, a Gallaudet graduate and a talented dancer and choreographer whose credits include founding the acclaimed Wild Zappers dance troupe. Certificates of completion were presented by Clerc Center Dean Katherine Jankowski and Director of Student Services Harriet Alexander-Whiting.
