 | Gerald “Bummy” Burstein, a member of the Class of 1950, leads the April 7 workshop “Everything you wanted to learn about parliamentary procedures...Now you can ask!” The event was an open forum for students to query Burstein, who is one of the only deaf people in the country to hold the distinction of being a certified parliamentarian. Also that day, Burstein made a presentation entitled “Make a difference TODAY!” He shared tales from when he was a student at Gallaudet and how he has watched the campus grow through the years. An active supporter of the University as a GUAA board member for 30 years and as a benefactor, Burstein has been involved in many other organizations as well. He explained how the wisdom he has acquired could be used by today’s campus leaders and deaf organizations. |
